  • DR PETER WILLIAMS

    Dr Williams works seven session (Monday - Thursday) across both practices In the practice my interests are musculoskeletal medicine (joints and muscles), minor operations, and in being a doctor of broad interest. I am involved in medico-politics and am the Chairman of the Derbyshire Local Medical Committee.

    Dr Love works 7 sessons across both sites (Monday - Thursday) Dr Love will be retiring at the end of November 2024 I have a special interest in cancer and end of life care. I continue to work as a Macmillan GP for the local health community in a strategic role and teaching.

Business Manager

    Partnership Business Manager

    Kerry's responsibilities include the general management of the Practice including finances and strategic planning and development, the building and systems and the overall organisation and management of Practice staff and their training. Kerry also deals with any patient concerns or complaints and any external communications both within the wider NHS and outside the Health Service.

Associate GP's

    "I studied medicine in Sheffield, graduating in 1994. After working in a variety of hospitals, mainly in A&E departments, and training to teach, I started GP training in Winchester in 2000, qualifying in 2003. I enjoy walking, badminton and music and am also involved in a local church. I worked in the High Peak for 7 years before joining Bakewell Medical Centre in 2012. My interests include GP support and education, minor surgery and anticoagulation."

  • DR TIM HODGKINSON

    Dr Hodgkinson will be leaving the practice on the 12th July 2024. We wish him well for his future.

Practice Management

The practices are support by a strong Management Team based at both sites
  • RACHEL BRICKLEBANK

    Rachel is our Administration Manager. Rachel looks after our patient registrations, the administration team and is the lead person for our Tideswell site. Any concerns from Tideswell patients should be raised with Rachel in the first instance.

  • COURTENEY SHIMWELL

    Courteney is our Administration Manager. She looks after our patient services team and appointments she also oversees the practices private work. Courteney will also help solve any complaints regarding appointments. Courteney is mainly based in our Bakewell site

GP Trainees/Registrars

As a training practice we have GP Registrars/Trainees with us (normally two or three at any time). They are qualified Doctors carrying out specialist GP Training (as opposed to Hospital Doctor training) which is a three year programme. In their first and second years they will spend four months with us - some who are allocated to one of our GP Education Supervisors (Dr Williams, Dr Todd or Dr Love) will spend a four month period with us and then the whole of their final year. We are proud to be a training practice and to invest in the future of GP’s for the future. We also have Medical Students with us from time to time from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Imperial College London and Kings College London.

    Dr Verma is a qualified doctor, who is in her final year of GP training.. Dr Verma has recently passed her final GP examinations

    Dr Robertson is a qualified doctor who is in year 2 of his foundation training. Dr Robertson is undertaking his rotation in General Practice with us and will be with us until August

Nurse Prescriber

    Vicki is our Lead Practice Nurse. Vicki has undertaken further training in order to see minor illness. Vicki is able to prescribe medications.

Community Matrons

The community matron post was established in April 2006 and is a role which was introduced by the Government to recognise and help those patients with long-term illnesses.

    Steph is an experience practice nurse who works four days a week over both sites. Steph is able to prescribe medication to support her role. Steph also works as our Coomunity Matron

    Sara-Jane is an experienced practice nurse that works three days, across both sites, Sara-Jane also covers our late night clinic on a Tuesday in Bakewell. Sara-Jane is specialised in diabetes management. Sara-Jane is able to prescribe medication.

Healthcare Assistants

    Emma is a long standing member of Bakewell surgery. Emma is our HCA based in Bakewell. Emma undertakes phlebotomy, chronic disease reviews, INR checks , performs Blood pressure checks and INR checks and administers some injections and vaccines.

    Nicky is an experienced HCA who works in Tideswell. Nicky undertakes phlebotomy, INR checks, ecg's, blood pressure monitoring, chronic disease monitoring and undertakes home visits,

Physician Associate

    Georgia is our Physicians Associate. The role is supported by our Primary Care Network. Georgia supports the GP's under their direct supervision, to see patients of differing needs. Georgia also supports the GP's in the care of patients living in our care homes.

Trainee Nurse Associate

    Kim is our Trainee Nurse Associate. This role is supported by our Primary Care Network. Kim undertakes phlebotomy, performs ECG's, INR's, administered some injections and vaccinations. Kim is expanding to undertake some more indepth chronic disease reviews. Kim is currently undertaking the Nurse Associate qualification

Pharmacy Technician

    Keiran is our Pharmacy Technician. This role is supported by our Primary Care Network. Keiran undertakes some medication reviews, processes medications on discharge letters, supports the GPs and patients with medication queries and processes any medication alerts we receive

General Practice Assistant

Phlebotomy, coding letters, supporting the GP's with administration duties

    Sarah is our General Practice Assistant. This is a role supported by our Primary Care Network, Sarah will undertake phlebotomy at both sites, increasing our appointments on offer, Sarah will also deal with incoming letters, coding and filing to records.

First Contact Physio

our FCP's will help with new pain. They are unable to see you if you already have a diagnosis.or have already spoke to a practitioner. ANy new pain is best dealt with by the FCP. They have received training in much more depth for musculo skeletal problems and are more qualified to deal with these issues than the GP's. FCPs can also refer on for more tests, or for a physio programme. The FCP team also run a zoom physio programme that can be accessed if you prefer not to come into one of the surgeries
